CEO & Founder's letter

Hello, I’m Wenny Wei! I am deeply honored and humbled to address you today as the founder of Mathera, it is with immense pleasure and gratitude that you visit this nonprofit and spend our journey together. It is always so warmhearted to see you, maybe as a friend across the nation, to participate in our math education! Mathera has always been a vision in my mind that I want to share with you all. I know when math intrigues me, it will intrigue hundreds of other curious people like me as well, and I wish so much to let them discover the amazing journey! Before I realized, I was already making the Mathera website. Our mission has always been clear: to encourage students to actively think and become a creator. Nowadays, math has become the key in countless fields. I see a lot of young people who have passion and interest in STEM but still struggle with high quality learning resources that genuinely satisfy their curiosity and learning depth.

As a high school student who is really interested in math, I’ve experienced something many learners go through:

- You understand the lesson.

- You complete the homework.

- You succeed on exams.

But then a question appears: “Why does this actually work?” And suddenly, everything feels unclear. That moment matters. Because it means you are no longer just solving problems— you are trying to understand the structure behind them.

I created Mathera because I saw a pattern:

- Students memorizing instead of thinking

- Learning becoming mechanical

- Curiosity slowly fading
